SCA Elevating roof (pop top) Drill Free bolt on solar kit
Drill free bolt on 100W kit for the SCA elevating roof with roof rail slotted bars fitted.
A kit that requires NO DRILLING AT ALL. This kit has been measured, made, and fitted , to an SCA pop top on a VW T6 fitted with the SCA roof slots either side (SCA roof rack system).
It will also fit other vehicles with an SCA roof IF the dimensions from one side to the other are the same. 126 cm from centre to centre.
£399 for a complete 100W kit (produces 5.4 charging Amps in good summer sun with an MPPT charger)
We've created a slimline kit that slots into the SCA pop top roof rails with cabling that shuts in the tailgate (or you can pass it through an existing tailgate grommet).
Note: the panel below has the cable on the driver side. It is normally on the passenger side to allow for the cable to run down the roof and enter the van through the rear tailgate grommet/boot which is behind the rear tailgate, top left. In this instance, we put the cable on the driver's side as the customer wanted to drill a hole and drop the cable through the roof, outside the tent, to enter the van below, in the kitchen area. We can put the cable on the driver's side on request.

So that you don't affect your roof warranty there is no need to drill any holes or stick anything onto your roof. This is why we created this kit.
The panel measures, at it's highest point, 18mm.
Above: easy to use brackets that slide into the roof rails. Corners are rounded and nut caps provided to stop snagging of roof covers.
The kit features:
- Foam backed panel edges to protect paintwork.
- Easy slide-in system to your existing roof rails.
- Waterproof connector that lives in the roof rail, or under the panel.
- LCD display solar regulator (we recommend the MPPT upgrade for this type of panel which you can select when ordering)
- All cables needed to connect to your leisure battery.
- Solar cable can be unplugged and stowed in the van
- Photo instructions include step by step details on how to route the solar cable through an existing tail gate grommet for a neater installation.
Note: The appearance of the panel may vary depending on current stock . Currently they are black cells on a black backing (totally black).
The standard kit has a flat cable that is pushed into the space between the tailgate and the bodywork when the roof is down - this excess cable is required to allow the roof to lift. A new option we now offer is a stretching curly cord. No need to tuck any cable away when the roof is lowered. NOTE: The phot below is a VW California with the curley cable. The SCA roof uses the same cable. An SCA photo will be uplaoded as soon as we have one!
